Hi, I’m Norma

Selling your home, moving, and organizing can be emotional.  It can be overwhelming to have someone else touch and move around your “stuff”. It’s very personal, so you should feel comfortable with your home stager and organizer.

I have a degree in Human Development, with a concentration in Gerontology. Before starting Just Simplify, I worked for over 15 years for the state of Massachusetts and several private agencies keeping senior adults living safely in their own homes. Working with older, frail adults and their families in stressful situations and in times of crisis, taught me patience and to be non-judgmental, accepting someone as they are, how they live, and where they are in life.

For over 17 years, I’ve worked in private homes and businesses as an organizer, designer, and home stager. These roles require high levels of diplomacy, tact, discretion, and mutual respect.

Everyone has their strengths: being creative and organized is mine.  I know how to break down a task that seems complicated and overwhelming, always knowing where to start first.

I’ve always been an organizer. Growing up, I was the one who cleaned the cellar and rearranged the linen closet. I did it for my mom, but I also did it because I thought it was fun!  I enjoy creating order, folding the towels just right, lining up the tools in the shed, and finding the perfect spot for something that seems out of place.

I have a huge amount of energy and welcome new projects. I love getting my hands dirty and jumping right in. I have a knack for taking a project (big or small), breaking it down to the simplest task, establishing what needs to be done first, and then starting the project.

I am creative and love using items in different, unexpected ways. I don’t like to spend unnecessarily and love using what you already have. I have an eye for design and know how to create pleasing furniture arrangements or vignettes. I can “feel” a room and can tell if a piece of furniture or art is out of place. I understand the principles of Feng Shui and can assess a room, distributing the color and “weight” for balance and a more cohesive look.

There’s no time like the present, so give me a call…

My Approach

To Home Staging

I work with some wonderful local realtors who love my easy, no-fuss approach to staging. They call on me to make sure the home looks its best and showcases the best features that help sell the house for the biggest return. They go above and beyond to help their clients alleviate the stress of moving. They know my work and know that when my staging is complete, their clients are well prepared; ready for listing photos, and ready for open houses.

I also work directly with homeowners who need a fresh set of eyes and an extra set of hands. Every situation is different, but many times I am able to transform a home in just one day, using only what is in the home. By editing and moving around furniture, art, and accessories you are photo-ready and open-house ready… ready to sell.

To Organizing

I believe in a place for everything and everything in its place. My job is to find or create the perfect place for the things in your space … to SIMPLIFY so that you can focus and spend time doing the things you need to do.  Sort… Purge… Place… in a nutshell, that’s what I do.

I’m great with deadlines and time frames, so I’ll keep you on track. I get a kick out of the process and seeing the finished project. Whether it’s rearranging all the “stuff” in your kitchen cabinets or emptying out a lifetime of attic accumulation, I’ll keep you focused and coach you each step of the way.  If you prefer homework, we can talk about that too.  The more you do on your own, the less you will need me, but I’ll keep you accountable.

To Redesign

It’s a bit of a combo. I use what you have, edit, rearrange and then we “plug in the holes” by discussing items you might want to purchase to finish the look. We will talk about furniture, lighting, paint color, window treatments, rugs, and accessories. I’ll give suggestions on my favorite places to shop. You can shop, we can go together or I can do the shopping for you. In the end, you’ll have a transformed space and you didn’t break the bank.
